Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

The Bible states that God is our creator.  He is a jealous God, not wanting us to worship other gods.  How often, in my past, have I allowed other “gods” in my life?  Many times.  Whether it is money, prestige, addiction, or shopping, all of it is worshipping other gods.  I had been breaking God’s first commandment without realizing that’s what I was doing.  It has taken me many years and significant discipline to place God first in my life. I wasted all those years searching for something to soothe my soul but never did.  Heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you for being our one and only God.  You alone deserve all honor and glory.  Thank you for the many Blessings you have placed upon me.  Help me, Lord, to always place you first in my life.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.  1 Corinthians 10:14. “Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry.”
