Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

Temptation is from the enemy (Satan).  Remember when Jesus was in the desert and was tempted by the devil for forty days?  Jesus was tempted in every way possible.  Yet, He did not sin.  That’s why Jesus can empathize with our weaknesses.  He understands and experienced every form of temptation while on earth in human flesh.  Jesus was living out the promises in Scripture that we are not alone.  We can fight temptation by leaning on God’s strength.  Galatians 5:16-17 says that if we walk by the spirit, we will not gratify the desires of the flesh.  Remember, Satan is everywhere, waiting for an opportunity to lure and entice you into sin.  He whispers in your ears.  Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, give me the strength to resist the devil and all his wiles.   Give me a pure heart that I may only see You, Lord.  Amen.  James 4:7. “Submit yourselves to God.  Resist the devil, and he must flee from you.”
