Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

The Lord commands us to be Holy because He is Holy.  We must be obedient to His power and authority.  In the Book of Daniel, In the days of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, all people were to bow before his image.  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to his golden statue.  They reserved their worship for God alone.  As a result, they were punished by being tied and put into the fiery furnace.  But because they were obedient to God, God delivered them.  Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.”  Dear Heavenly Father, help us remain obedient to you throughout our lives.  Keep us from temptation by the devil.  Teach us and show us your way, Oh Lord.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.  Acts 5:29 – But Peter and the Apostles answered, “We must be obedient to God rather than men.”
