Many years ago, I read the poem by Francis Thompson called the “Hound of Heaven.” The poem tells how God pursues us throughout our life to save our souls. The man in the poem is so ashamed of himself and his sins, that he runs and hides from God. But there is nowhere he can go to escape Him. God is everywhere. He is omniscient. What a great God we have! He wishes for none to perish in the fires of hell. He pursues us continuously because He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you, for your constant pursuit of us, for your unending love of us. Please help us to be always mindful of You and know that You are waiting for us to surrender our lives to You. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen. Ezekiel 34: 10-11. “For thus says the Lord God: I will look after my sheep. As a shepherd tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep. I will rescue them from every place they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark.”
