Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, paid a debt He didn’t owe.  In the Old Testament, God’s people were to give a blood sacrifice to atone for their sins and restore them in good standing with God.  This was part of God’s covenant with Abraham.  In the New Testament, Jesus brought a new covenant into the world.  He became the ‘blood sacrifice’ for all people.  He paid our way to eternal salvation.  That is how much God loves us.  Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us eternal life through Jesus Christ.  Help us to always honor You in all we do.  Free us from temptation, Lord.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.    John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
