Today, Slaying the Giants!

Who or what are the giants in your life? You know, those giants you can’t get rid of. For me, these giants are depression, anxiety, and, at times, laziness. This morning, I had an exercise class at 9:15. I wanted to stay in bed a little longer, and Satan was tempting me by telling me I was too tired. My body wanted to give in to the evil one, but I forced myself to get up, and even then, it was almost too late to get ready and make it on time. I cut corners, like no makeup, showered and did my hair, ran out the door, and drove to the community center. I made it with two minutes to spare. It was a terrific workout. How many times in our lives do we let Satan have his way? This morning, I was determined not to give in to his tricks. Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the Holy Spirit who prompted me to get up this morning. Help me be more aware of the devil’s wiles and resist his attempts to sabotage my plans. Be with me, always teaching and guiding me to do your will. Forgive my failures, Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. 1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
