Today, God Will NOT Be Mocked!

What does mock mean?  It means to make fun of, treat with scorn, and laugh at in a derisive way.  Have you ever been mocked for your faith or your beliefs?  I have a few times.  Jesus was mocked and lied about. To mock God is to disrespect, dishonor, or ignore Him. It is a serious offense committed by those who have no fear of God or who deny His existence.  After Jesus was arrested, He was taken before Pilate.  Pilate found no fault in him and sent him to Herod, for He belonged in Herod’s jurisdiction.  Herod and his soldiers treated Jesus with contempt, then scoffed and ridiculed Him.  Afterward, Jesus was sent again to Pilate.  Pilate gathered his chief priests and the rulers of the people and told them again that he found no offense in this Man, nor did Herod.  But these people responded with ‘away with Him, crucify Him’ and release Barabbas.’  Dear Heavenly Father, I cannot imagine Christ’s persecution and suffering.  How could His own people do this to Him?  If I am mocked for my faith, help me to remember that it was no different for Jesus.  Forgive me, Lord, for my sins that Jesus died for.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.  Galatians 6:7: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that he will also reap.”
