Today, Piety!

According to Christianity.com, piety is giving God reverence and worship that emanates from a Holy life.  It is to give proper honor and respect.  It is also evidence of sincere faith and devotion to God through our thoughts, words, and actions.  Remember, actions speak much louder than words.  Piety is a reflection of our commitment to God through prayer, worship, kindness, charity, love, humility, and mercy.    An example in the Bible is in Acts chapter 10.  Cornelius was a centurion or captain of the Italian Regiment.  He was a devout man who venerated God and treated Him with reverential obedience.  He gave many alms to the people and prayed to God continuously.   His actions were congruent with his faith and words.  We should all strive to be pious.  Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You and praise You for Godly examples of people in the Bible.  Help us to pay more attention to these men and women who teach us to be pious.  Never let our focus wander from You, Oh Lord.  Keep us always in Your care.  In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.  Luke 10:27 “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
