Today, Self-Control!

Another Fruit of the Holy Spirit is self-control. We all need self-control because we are at war with our own sinful desires. Self-discipline (another word for self-control) is needed to achieve a goal. In our own lives, self-control is needed to eat healthy, exercise our bodies, and keep Satan from getting a foothold over us. We need to continually renew our minds through God’s word, ask the Holy Spirit to help us, confess our sins to God, and ask for forgiveness.  Also, remove any triggers from your environment.  When we practice self-control, we reflect the Spirit of God and pursue a holy life.  Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that Your word contains everything we need for daily and eternal life because we know that all Scripture is God-breathed.  Self-discipline is hard for everyone, but it can be achieved.  Help us to think positively and gain self-esteem to accomplish this task.  In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.  2 Timothy 1:7. “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.  With the Holy Spirit inside of us, we can possess self-control and demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit.  As a result, we can live in a way that is honorable to God.”
