The Bible tells us to be kind and unselfish and share our money and valuables with others. It also tells us that the generous will prosper. Proverbs 22:9 says, “The generous themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” We are called to show generosity to all, giving our time, talents, friendship, money, and hospitality, and not to expect payment in return for our generous gifts. The most generous of all is God. He created our planet and man and gave us everything we needed to survive. He gave us light, color, sound, air, and our five senses. But, most of all, He gave us His son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice to atone for our sins so that we may dwell with Him for eternity. That was the most generous gift of all. Praise God for this indescribable gift. Dear Heavenly Father, we praise and thank you for the ultimate gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who became sin for us to make amends for our sins. How great and mighty and good are You, Lord, creator, and architect of all things. Bless us, Lord, with Your wisdom and Your generosity. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. Hebrews 13:16: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
