Today, Remember the Exodus!

The Book of Exodus in the Bible is a thrilling example of how God takes care of His people.  God sent Moses to free His people from the slavery and tyranny in Egypt.  The pharaoh of Egypt refused to let God’s people go.  Several times Moses approached him, but Pharaoh refused each time.  Then God sent plagues upon Egypt.  Ten plagues in all.  They are water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the killing of the first born upon Egypt.  The Israelites, the slaves of Egypt, lived in the land of Goshen.  The land of Goshen did not receive the plagues.  God protected His people.  The same with the crossing of the Red Sea.  God stretched out his mighty arm and opened the sea for His people to pass safely through.  When pharaoh charged after the Israelites to bring them back, God stretched out His arm again and closed the sea.  Pharaoh and all his army drowned.  God then asked His people to earnestly remember these events.  What a marvelous God we have.  God is the same God today.  When we are in trouble, look to God.  He will rescue His people today as He did back then.  Whatever comes our way in this chaotic world where evil reigns, make no mistake, God will judge His enemies and destroy them.  Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your great miraculous power that saves your people.  We praise you Lord, God most High, that You are in control of this world and Your justice will prevail.  Have mercy on Your people today as we fight the evil in our world.  In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.  Exodus 13: 3. “And Moses said to the people, earnestly remember this day in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage and bondmen, for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place.”
