Today, The Passion!

As we do every year at Easter time, my husband and I watched “The Passion of the Christ.” This moving depiction of the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus is probably truer to life than any other account.  The scourging at the pillar was extremely brutal and difficult to watch, as was the walk to Calvary while carrying the heavy cross they would nail Him to.  Yet, this was God’s plan to save humanity, and Jesus willingly gave Himself up to torture and death for all mankind.  How much our Savior suffered for us.  Without this blood sacrifice, we would all be doomed by our sins.  Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and thank You for the ultimate gift of your Son so mankind could gain eternal life.  Forgive us our sins, Lord, and help us to defeat our wrongdoings in daily life.  Help us to remember always the great sacrifice Jesus suffered for us.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.  Romans 3: 23-25: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by His Grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation His blood, to be received by Faith.”
