Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

I love the joyous song “Canticle of the Sun” by Marty Haugen.  The chorus lyrics bring gladness to my heart and soul.

“The heavens are telling the glory of God, and all creation is shouting for joy!  Come, dance in the forest, come play in the field, And sing, sing to the glory of the Lord!” (Chorus)

Praise for the sun, the bringer of day, He carries the light of the Lord in his rays; The moon and the stars who light up the way unto your throne!

Praise for the wind that blows through the trees, the seas’ might storms, the gentlest breeze; they blow where they will, they blow where they please to please the Lord!

How mighty and powerful is our Lord, full of goodness and mercy.  Let us praise Him forever.  Dear Heavenly Father, we praise You and thank You for your signs and wonders in the skies and on earth, and in the seas.  Your glory is seen the world over.  Help us to recognize You, Lord, as the almighty creator and ruler of this world.  All things are under your power.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.  Psalm 19:1 “The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament show and proclaims His handiwork.”
