Pondering Thoughts of My Soul

Discipline from God is an act of love.  God is compelled because of His love for us to correct, guide, and shape us into the people He created us to be.  Without His discipline, we would remain stagnant in spiritual growth and wander from His intended path of life for us.  When we accept God’s love, we also accept His correction and guidance.  Through this discipline, we will experience a deeper relationship with God.  We learn how to trust in His wisdom and to submit to His authority.  God’s discipline is not meant to harm us but to refine us.  Like a loving parent, God disciplines us out of love and concern to teach and guide us to become the best that we can be.  Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your loving discipline of us.  Help us all to become who You need us to be.  Give us strength and courage always to do the right thing.  In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.  Proverbs 3:12: “For whom the Lord loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.”
