Many Christian parents have struggled with the fact that their child or children have turned away from God. It’s heartbreaking to see them leave their faith when we, as parents, know how important faith in God is. Yet, how can we help them find their way back? Love them, accept them where they are, and continually pray for them. God still sees the prodigal as His beloved child, no matter how far he or she has run from Him. God will never stop watching or pursuing His children. As parents, pray against Satan’s desire to have them. Rebuke and bind his power. God gave us the authority over Satan. Pray scripture daily over your prodigal (ie…Psalm 18: 16-19). ‘Remember, the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.’ (James 5:16). Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for all the souls that have left their faith behind. Return them, Oh Lord, to your heart. Don’t let Satan have them. They belong to You, Oh God. Bring them back into your righteousness. Amen! Psalm 40:2 “He drew me up out of the horrible pit, a pit of tumult and destruction, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps.”
